You know us, we are always looking for something new to do,
so here goes.
It's "Cruise Night" time and this time we're not talkin' about island breezes, boat and beaches. We're talkin' "Detroit Iron". So this Friday don't kick back with your feet up on the coffee table and a margarita but, step back ....waaay back, back to the 50's and 60's when for most of us, cruisin was the most important thing to do on a Friday night.

Have a classic, antique or street rod then bring it out (we will be lining them up on Main St.), if not, stop by and enjoy the fun. Most Main St. shops will be open late.

We had a great turn out and everyone is looking forward to the next one. Thanks to everyone that came.
See you in October

This may seem a bit off the wall for a clothing store but it is about this is about Hawaii and my other love, street rods.

I know this is not something most would think would be big on the island state of Hawaii but quite the contrary. The larger islands are the primary focus for car shows and cruise nights with cruise nights in many cases being bigger there than on the mainland. Many of these nights are sponsored by the local burger joints or would that be "burger huts" with attendance often ranging from a few dozen to several hundred cars. The street scene has become so large that rods will take the ferry from island to island to compete. Also the first "online only" car scene magazine was started for the car scene in Hawaii called Honolulu Streets Magazine which has been goin' strong since 1997.
Now, for the "Big Kahuna" of street rod cruises, how about a 10 day trip around the big island. Imagine a 10-day cruise on the big island of Hawaii driving your own street rod or '50s custom? Wow, what a concept! Actually you don't have to imagine anything because it is a real event known as Cruise Paradise, and it's been going on since 2000. Ah, better make that every third year since 2000; it takes that long to plan these 10-day big Island "cruis-a-ganzas"! In 2009 the event drew 348 preregistered rods and classics.
